Description:
Meet Iress (Izzy)! Iress is a cute, sweet and loving girl who is 100% potty-trained and has not had one accident in her foster mother’s house! She LOVES a warm lap to snuggle in and will be in one every chance she gets. Iress was surrendered by her owner when they no longer could take care of her and other dogs in the household. She was separated from her daughter, but has adjusted perfectly and is looking for loving attention from anyone who is willing to give it. Iress gets along great with people, other dogs and cats (give her a bit to get to know them). She is very content just chilling with her human, but also has a playful side when the opportunity presents itself. She has been slow in learning how to play with other dogs, but is learning to trust, is feeling more comfortable and has been seen romping and playing with the other dogs in her foster home. She has not shown the typical small dog possessiveness with other dogs and will share the attention of her people. Iress is crate-trained and does not whine or bark when in her kennel. Her current foster no longer uses a crate because she is so good on her own that a crate is not needed. Also, she slept in a crate at night with no problem, but currently sleeps in bed and sleeps all night. She only barks if prompted by other dogs or will bark when looking out the window and sees other dogs walking by. Iress loves scrounging around outside and going for walks. She seems to do fairly well on a leash, but has not been on many walks. She is from Minnesota so does not need to adjust to cold winters! Basically, this little girl is about as easy as they come! She just wants and deserves to be loved by someone unconditionally. Will that be you? Please feel free to fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION by clicking on the button below.
*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
