Update: Tika has been with us for a while now and we have been so lucky to have her!
She is just overall a wonderful dog and brings the true meaning of companion to Life.

She would probably do best in a home that is cat free …we have a cat and they get along fine,
But our cat also loves to be chased and is very dog savvy: the quick movements seem to excite her.

She would fit very well in a family home (she loves to cuddle and will take any attention she can get) or even a home with other dogs we have a dog about the same size but have watched my in-law’s dog for a few weeks who is only about 10lbs and the got along great.

She loves going for walks, cuddling on the couch, laying in the sunshine, belly rubs, and playing tug of war with our dog!

She is a funny gal and so super sweet, her laid back nature would complement almost any household!

Tika is a wonderful dog who would do great in any home. We have only had her a few days but she is the absolute sweetest. She loves to follow you around and is happy going for walks or cuddling on the couch. She gets along great with our nine-year- old daughter and our 2-year- old boxer bulldog mix. She has been very interested in our cat and would really love to play but the cat is not so interested in letting her do so. Her tail is always wagging and when we go on walks she is eager to try and meet new dogs and people. She does not pull but we are working on walking without zig-zagging the sidewalk. She has a few commands such as sit and stay down, and seems to recognize her name over our dog’s. She is very attentive with the cutest perky ears, and also very good at sharing. She doesn’t really bark and is usually very quiet. She really is just a doll if you are looking for a loyal companion; this girl is it!

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
