Description:

Meet Tiffy.

Tiffy  is gentle, very sweet, and loving beagle. She likes to be with you, but takes a nap if you are busy and can't give her 100% attention. She is a love sponge and wants nothing more than walks, bully sticks, and cuddles from her humans. She observes how the humans want her to fit into the home and integrates herself easily and quickly.

She seems to be house trained, though she is being watched very carefully. When her humans are home, she will bark only when alarmed and is not one of those "loud beagles" gives the breed their howling reputation. When she lets out a few alarm barks, she responds quickly to verbal correction. She is great with all dog friendly dogs. She will offer a growl if one of her foster sisters gets too close to high-value treats, but this may improve after she is spayed and with correction.

She would do best in a fenced in yard because she enjoys the freedom too much to not have that as an everyday option. She walks well on a leash to go potty and get exercise. She LOVES her walks and is bunny crazy. She does great in the car; she just settles in for a nap. She would thrive with a doggie friend to show her the ropes of a new home or in a home with a mom or dad who could be home with her at least part time.
She gives wonderful dog hugs, extremely smart and loving, and is joy and absolutely lovely.

Tiffy's story: Tyler and Tiffy belonged to an older man & they were his beloved house dogs until he became ill and went on hospice.  At that time, both of these precious dogs were thrown outside to fend for themselves.

Neighbor kids were shooting them with bb guns until a relative went out & got Tiffy.   Tyler was on his own for a month before he was found.  He had bite wounds all over his body and they suspect he had been attacked by coyotes.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
