Description:

Aames is an absolute gem!! She’s so sweet with ALL people and has been around kids and is so well behaved- she doesn’t jump and just gives them an initial lick and then continues to admire from a far (she’s not mouthy with them at all)!
She sits and wags her tail and waits for every human that passes to give her some pets! If you sit on the ground, she loves to crawl into your lap and snuggle up, but she won’t fit on your lap for long!
She’s the most loyal 3 ½ month old puppy to her humans that I’ve ever encountered- She wants to be by you side every moment she can! She also loves other dogs but doesn’t bug them- She currently has 2 fur siblings in the home, a 60lb pit mix and a 14lb min pin- she also comes to work with me where there are 4 other dogs, so she’s very dog friendly and well socialized! There’s one puppy she really enjoys playing with, but I think it’s just because they’re very similar in size and play style, otherwise she normally just sniffs and moves on to do her own thing!
She loves the car and just sleeps in the back and doesn’t make a peep, and also has the bladder of a champ- she can make it through the night without having to go out- she’s had a few accidents (specifically under our dining room table), but overall has done very well for her age! We are working on her sleeping arrangement- the kennel makes her very nervous, so we set up a pen area that connects to the kennel, which gives her the option to go in if she wants, otherwise she can sleep on her bed in the pen area. Because she loves her people, she normally cries for about 20 min, but then sleeps through the night and is getting better every night!
If you have shared walls, I would just consider the noise she makes while left alone, which I’m sure will continuously get better and better, but can be loud at first.
She’s still learning what a leash is, but we have gone on walks and she does very well if she’s following her fur siblings, she just wants to keep up! I think because she’s so loyal and always wants to be by your side, she will be a great leash walker if you train her right off the bat. She doesn’t bark at anyone or anything that walks by- she’s a bit timid when it comes to that sort of thing and sits quietly until she’s ready to walk again.
I think she’d love a furry sibling for comfort and to help show her the ropes, but loves her people more than anything, so I definitely don’t think a second dog is a requirement! Overall, she’ll get spurts of typical puppy energy while at home, but we’ve taken her to family and friends homes and she just sits quietly and observes everyone and everything. She’s going to be an AMAZING dog!

* Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.

*Puppies who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for out of state/long distance adoption.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
