Description:
Hoss (aka Falcon) is a big boy and I would call him a calm gentle giant of a dog at 100lbs. Hoss wants nothing more than to be by your side getting/receiving attention. He likes to come over and to put his big regal head in your lap and get petted/ear rubs!!! If I sit on the couch he will sit next to me and he follows/moves with me when I move through the house. :) Hoss is a classic Shepherd and will herd you in house or as I say it he will be in your way as your try to walk through the house since he wants to be with you and next to you. Hoss likes to play with Kong and will play fetch with you with that or a ball. He will even play with Kong by himself, but he prefers to have you toss Kong and he will fetch it and bring it back to you so you can toss it again!!!! Hoss gets along with our 5 personal dogs that we have in house. When he came he was immediately at calm and ease with our dogs and chill with them. Hoss is house trained and will do his business outside. We have a fenced yard so we have not done a lot of walking with Hoss on a leash. I believe Hoss would love to go for walks with you and with his size his presence will provide you protection. When I picked Hoss up at MARS he did well on leash, but he is a big dog and he can pull a little when he wants, with a little practice I think he will be good on a leash. When we go out the door he does want to go with you and tries to go out with you since he wants to go with you and/or be with you (i.e. we are careful so he does not dash out the door ). Hoss likes to watch out from the window and he is normally a quiet dog . He will bark now and then (i.e. our dogs start barking and he will bark with them) when they/he sees something out front. As I said Hoss is a gentle giant and I think he would be good with kids. Due to his size he may knock over a small child unintentionally. If you want a big loyal loving companion who wants to be with you and near you then look no further this gentle giant will be your best friend!!! *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
