Hi
– My name is Frost and I am a darling white shepherd mix. My foster family says
my fur is so soft and bright white. I can’t wait to hide in the snow!! I am
sure you have noticed from my picture that I have great black eyes, a button
nose and adorable ears that are partly perky and partly floppy! That’s how I
feel much of the time – partly perky and partly floppy! Like most puppies, I
go, go, go for a while, then I flop down on the nearest lap or comfy cushion
and take a much deserved nap! I
am a very happy, confident puppy. I don’t shy away from new people or new
places. I totally LOVE to chew on
rawhide bones and if I have a lot of those to choose from, I will leave the
shoes alone (most of the time)! I do
pretty well on a leash, and I LOVE running loose in the fenced back yard. I also
have spent some time in a kennel and don’t hate it too much. A comfy bed and a good
chew-toy keep me occupied for a Awhile.
Luckily I have been able to sleep in bed with my foster folks but I understand
that may not be something I can do forever! I
am living with a whole bunch of furry foster friends who are teaching me lots
of good stuff. For instance, my foster “sister”
Gracie is a great big dog who is teaching me how to play tug, how to chase There are two little foster dogs that are like “Grandma” dogs and they are
teaching me what NOT to do….like bugging them while they eat, and sneaking into I also
have a foster friend who is a cat….he is teaching me that cats don’t really
like to be bugged by puppies. Boy is
there a lot to Speaking
of learning, in the past week with my foster family I have learned a lot about
what people like. For instance, they really get happy when I potty outside! I
am trying to do that more often, but it’s a hard thing to learn when you are
just a pup. I keep trying! I have one trick totally mastered though…if they
call me, and I come running to them and sit pretty, I get a treat!!! It’s so
cool – I sit, then I get a treat, that’s not so hard. I am going to start
working on some other tricks soon. I hope that my new family keeps teaching me!
This learning thing is fun! There
is a little kid in the house where I am staying and she is so fun to play with
too. I am not such a tiny pup and I don’t use my teeth to play with people so I
think that I do really well with kids. I
sure hope that there is a family out there who can find a spot for me in their
home and in their heart. I can’t wait to meet you and show you what a gem I am!!! Love, Frost Please feel free to fill out an Adoption Application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
