Description:

Meet Nova!,  she was adopted as a puppy and through no fault of her own, she is now being returned.

Get ready to fall madly in love!   Nova is the perfect dog! Her name comes from the pretty 5-point white star on her chest (SuperNova!)

She’s a 47lb teddy bear that loves kids, dogs, cats, pretty much everyone. She is very mild mannered and very gentle at 1.5 years old.

She is potty trained and very calm but can also leap for joy when you arrive home or offer to take her on a walk or car ride!

She would also love runs at the dog park! We have not had any issues with her being destructive at all, but she would be best with someone or a family who is home a lot. The previous owner said she would break out of normal kennels but we haven’t had to kennel her. (she was alone for 10-12 hours at a time every day, so leaving her for long periods is not ideal.

We have left her for a couple of hours un-kenneled and she has been fine so far). Nova is very good with kids, but older kids might be better because she might knock over the younger ones if she gets excited. She will get very attached to her human and follow her human around the house sometimes, looking for cuddles, belly rubs or just to lay down and nap where her human is. She will also go to her human if she gets a little nervous or if someone new comes around until she knows it's ok.

She is a tiny bit shy when meeting new people but warms up very quickly! Nova has a really fun and goofy personality and she is the perfect fit for that empty spot you are looking to fill!

She does have a possible allergy to dog food that has chicken in it, so she has a beef and rice blend.  Her foster Mom is having a tough time parting with her because she is so very easy to fall in love with, but the other dog in the home is having issues with Nova being there, and he is an old coot so they decided to let him have his way.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
