Gabbi is coming to us from a rural shelter in MO where her time was up.  She is a bit overweight and could use some long walks, exercise, and lots of love.

She is an affectionate girl who loves people and can't wait to find a place to call her own.

Here is an update from Gabby's foster mom!

Gabby is ready and excited to go to her forever home!!  She
does have just a little arthritis in her legs, but she does okay with it
and it is not a major issue with her.  She stays on my main floor, however
she can do stairs if she needs too.  She does 3-4 steps to get in and out
of my house and does fine.  She just finished another round of rimadyl and
tramadyl.  She has no problem taking her pills anymore as long as they're
wrapped in a little liverwurst or cheese!

I have had her around a couple kids.  They were 4 and 5.  She just walked
up to them, sniffed their hand and walked away.  She takes awhile to warm
up, but she has started wagging her tail and has started seeking out
affection.  I don't think she realizes how big she is either.  She likes
to walk between your legs and lean into you and rub her face on your
legs.  Her appetite is good now, she gets excited for her dish of food and
for her pills/snacks.

She is very sweet and extremely low key.  I have never heard her bark or
growl.  She does perk up now when we're outside and she hears people, but
she doesn't react, just watches.  I have had her in both a wire crate and
a plastic one.  She seems to prefer the plastic one.  The plastic one I
have never had any problems, she lays in it when it's open.

She stills shows no interest in my cats.  She has met some other smaller
dogs too and doesn't really have an interest in them either.  She enjoys
short walks, and isn't into toys.
