Description:
Hi! I'm Nora, but you can call me Shadow too! I am a lover and am
looking for a someone to love me back. Can that be you?

A little about me, well, I'm sorry I look kind of sad in my pictures, I
was sad at that time. I had a doggie sister that attacked me out of know
where and I was hurt. But now, I'm all healed up, but I do have some
scars to remind me of her. I LOVE to play fetch!! I LOVE to swim!! I
LOVE to cuddle!! What else could you want!!?

I think I would be happiest as an only doggie in the house, but some
children to play would be wonderful! Ever since my attack, I pick and
choose what dogs I like and what dogs I don't like. Though, I haven't
yet met a doggie that I haven't liked, but typically, I will just ignore
them and come look for attention from you, I have a way of weaseling my
way into your heart! A few things you should know about me since I could
be living with you...I am not a bad girl, by any means, however to be
honest, if some other doggie starts something, I just may have to finish
what was started. Its not that I want to, but ever since I was attacked,
I feel its best to defend myself and my family. Maybe that is the
shepherd in me! So I want a family that will understand me, my body
language and the body language of other pups around me because I don't
ever want to be put in that situation ever again. I'm a lover, not a
fighter!

UPDATE FROM NORA'S ADOPTIVE HOME NOVEMBER 2ND, 2011:

Just a note to let you know that everything is going very smoothly. She's a wonderful well behaved lady who is easy as pie to manage. Very smart !  I caught her raiding her Royal Canine food around midnight, guess she wanted to fill a little spot in her stomach. You can see she has found her spot on the loveseat and for a time will sleep next to my bed when I am in it. I am so grateful to Dale who did an awesome job while she was with him because it is so apparent. God bless you for all that you do.

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
