Meet Tia!!

Tia was sitting in a cold cell at an out of state animal control facility that only holds dogs for 3 days before putting them to sleep. Well, we sprung this gorgeous girl out of jail and now she has a loving foster home to care for her while we look for her new forever home.

Tia is a very sweet girl. She was picked up as a stray and we believe that she spent most of her young life tied to a chain. What did this girl do to deserve this?? Tia gets along with everyone and loves to make new canine friends. She does not have a mean bone in her body, and just wants someone to share all of her love with. Tia is truly a wonderful dog.

Wherever there is excitement, that’s where you will find Tia. She loves to be around people and “help” with whatever you are doing. The vacuum cleaner and mop are her mortal enemies and must be attacked! A leaf rake is another foe that must be dealt with. Tia gets along with all dogs and cats, but not squirrels. Squirrels were made to chase. Tia doesn’t mind her kennel and will wait patiently to be let out. Walks are sometimes challenging due to squirrels and other critters.

Evening hours are spent lounging on the couch watching TV with Tia’s head in your lap waiting for a potato chip to fall. Tia is a tiny bit apprehensive of firecrackers and thunder. She is not sure what the big noise is and really doesn’t want to find out. Tia would be a nice addition to anyone’s home.

A NOTE FROM HER FOSTER:

Tia is doing well here. She is still learning the house rules...particularly the one about NOT chasing the cat! She LOVES attention...she will sit next to you for hours as long as you're petting her. She's really sweet and plays well with my dog. She does well in her crate, barely makes any noise at all during the night and waits patiently for you to let her out in the morning. She has learned to walk well on a leash. She's very sensitive when you tell her no! My dog could care less, he listens, but he doesn't sulk afterwards like she does!!! It's kind of funny how they are so different.

Won't you consider helping a girl in need?

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
