Meet Aama

Aama aka Isis (the name she knows), was an owner turn in to Cobb Co Animal Control   Her family indicated she was sweet, which is very true. She has the sweetest disposition of any dog I have fostered.  They also said she was good with children which I would believe because she is so sweet and even tempered.  She knows her name and happily comes running when called.

She has been an outside dog for the most part which would account for her heartworm positive status and is still working on being completely house trained. On "regular" let out schedule she is learning.

She gets along very well with my older dog . Isis would like to play however my older dog does not and Isis leaves her alone.  She is not at all a resource guarder & I take items from her with no problem.

I think Isis is sturdy enough to be in a home with children and would make a great companion for a stay at home mom.   She is just so happy and loves attention.  She is not needy but is enjoying being petted and made over.  She is not yippy and quiets when told.

She is not afraid of the rain and will walk through puddles.  She will play with toys and explore her world. She is happy to sit next to me on the sofa and watch TV.  I don't think she had ever been on a sofa before.  In the morning after our walk I put her in bed with me for a little while, she lays right next to me just soaking it up.

For sleeping I have a bed for her in the bathroom with vinyl floor.  She goes to her bed when told.  As long as she is walked before bedtime she has no accidents. It is important to keep her on a regular let out schedule, though, or she can have a house accident.

She is walked three times a day.  We did pass a cat last night and she wanted to take off after it, so cats may not be a good idea, but good w/ kids and other dogs.  She loves her walks and gets excited when I get the leash.

Once Isis is a bit more house trained, she is going to be a wonderful dog.  It would be great to see her with as family as she is so sweet and will be a great companion dog.  She would love to have someone, dog or human to play chase with and love on.  She likes to give kisses which are also very sweet.  You will see for yourself when you meet her.

Can you give her forever home?

*The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
