Hi, I'm glad to see you are checking out my profile. My name is Nike!

Until recently, I was living with my friend Little Boom, and a whole bunch of other dogs in Texas. My owner was someone called a "Hoarder". That means he was a person who kept too many dogs. It wasn't a good place to live, since there were so many of us. We didn't get much attention, and sometimes we didn't get enough food.

Some nice people came and took a bunch of us to foster homes. Nike and I went together to a nice place that had people, kids, horses, and most importantly, only a few other dogs! It was fun. I got to spend time playing with the kids and running with the horses.

But, there were so many of us that came out of the hoarders place, that it was hard to find homes for all of us. Me and my friend Little Boom volunteered to head north to make a new life. We're in Minnesota now, and need to find foster homes. Could you help out one or both of us? We'd really appreciate it! It was a long trip from Texas to Minnesota...but we think it is going to pay off. I'm hoping to settle in to my new forever home soon. Could that be with you?

Nike is a flat-coated retriever, is neutered and is approximately 2 years old. You won't meet a sweeter, bigger lap baby than Nike. He's lovable, calm, gentle, and such a sweet dog to adults and children. He does great even around very small children.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
