Meet Tojoe!

Hi! My name is Tojoe.

I am an absolutely adorable retriever/terrier (possibly beagle) mix who recently celebrated my first birthday. I am a perfect size – about 40 pounds.

I love to meet people of all ages and they love to meet me. I have a fondness for attention, but am also good at entertaining myself with my toys. Anything that squeaks is my favorite type of toy.

Going out for walks is another favorite activity. I do get pretty revved up when I meet other dogs and I am working on walking better on my leash. A harness definitely helps me with that.

I have mastered many commands: “Sit”, “Stay”, “Leave It”, “Lay Down”, “Heel”, and am diligently working on “Quiet”. (I tend to get myself all worked up over people outside of my house – and squirrels and rabbits, of course.)

I love riding in the car and am very well behaved. While you’re running errands, I will sit behind the wheel and wait for you.

I do enjoy a good snuggle both on the couch and when it’s bedtime. I will sleep on a bed of my own next to yours if you prefer.

I try to play with the cat but he never seems to want my attention. I’m pretty good about just leaving him alone.

I am excellent when left on my own, I do not chew on anything but my toys and I do not have accidents.

I love my foster mom and even the cat but am searching for my forever family. Could it be you? I would be a wonderful addition to your household.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
