Description:

Meet Thor! Thor is a Purebred Siberian Husky and is smarter than the average dog. He is absolutely amazing but requires a special owner that understands the breed and his level of intelligence. Thor is completely house trained and does not need a kennel. He gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes as well as cats.

Because of his size and powerful build, a home with small children is not advised, but he has been around small children who have visited and have met him on walks and does well. He is highly intelligent and can open almost any door and has recently discovered how to open the baby gates.

Thor was bounced through 4 homes in the past year, being bought and sold because he is beautiful, however no one understood him. He is a working dog and if he does not have a leader and a job to do, he will get frustrated and will overrun a household. He requires walks, runs & adventures daily . He would make an ideal wheel dog for a sled team or would be great for skijoring.

Thor was handled roughy sometime in his past. If you come at him in anger or try to grab at him in a rough manner he can get mouthy, hence the need for a strong experienced owner that understands the needs of a working husky. If you show leadership and respect him, he will do anything you tell him. Thor knows so many commands I cannot list them all here. A few are: sit, down, stay, come, high five, shake, play dead, out of the kitchen, wait, leave it, go to your bed, pray, speak, quiet, drop..and so on.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
