Meet Toby!

Toby is coming to MARS from a high kill shelter. Unbelievable how this cute boy could have been left unclaimed! He is very sweet and good with other dogs.

Toby did test positive for heartworm disease and will be treated by MARS so he can live a long, happy and healthy life!

Toby is a sweetheart! He enjoys being by his people and is very affectionate. He is crated while we are not home and although doesn’t love to go in his crate, he does so with a little coaxing and a peanut butter filled Kong. We have not had any issues with him barking or being anxious when in the crate.

Toby also seems to be potty trained as we have had no accidents in the house. Toby absolutely loves going on walks and playing outside. He does pull, especially when he sees people or dogs as he seems to want to meet everyone, but with someone training he should be a great walker.

He can get jealous when we are giving our resident dog attention – he will wiggle his way in-between to make sure he gets some attention too.

Toby is a great cuddler and snuggler. He readily rolls over for belly rubs and loves to sit next to you.

If you are looking for a low key snuggle buddy in the house and a great walking/running companion outside of the house.... Toby is the perfect dog for you!

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
