Description:
Hi, Redmon here! I am the biggest mush you will ever meet! I love sleeping with you and just as long as I am touching you, I'm happy. I tend to destroy soft toys and pull the stuffing out, I think this is fun, but my foster parents don't. I love kongs, with or without peanut butter in them (it's a good surprise when i find it in there!) and big rope toys are really fun to play with too. I have strong jaws so non-destructible toys are best for me. I'm good with nail trimmings and people touching my feet and mouth, so I think I will do well with kids if they dont mind playing with me and having a best friend! I am potty trained and run downstairs when I have to go. I am very smart and require a structured family!! I love running in the backyard with the other dogs playing with tennis balls (only sometimes I forget to bring them back). So, I'd prefer a home with a fenced yard. I "heel" nicely with a training collar, but because I am so strong, I need to be with someone who can handle my strength :-) I need to stay on a leash or in a fenced yard, because otherwise I see something and get excited and run off. I guess that's how I lost my family in the first place. I love fleece blankets and cuddling up next to you showering you with kisses. Won't you please come meet me today? Love, Redmon (aka Red) Update from Redmon's foster home... Red is the most wonderful foster dog I have ever had the privilege to know. He is very sweet and loves everyone he meets! Great with all dogs of any size, and loves to play with kids! Although kids should be at least over 6 yrs old cause he is a big dog at 80 lbs. (don't want him to knock them over by mistake). He has be with me for a month and in that time has learned some new commands- He can sit, stay, wait, lay down, and fetch a ball. (His favorite is playing ball!) He has learned not to jump up on people and knows to sit if he want attention. He loves his chewy bones and has no problem if you want to take it from him. He is such a gentle boy and has helped me raise my 4 Pomeranian puppies who can do anything to him! (they crawl all over him, bite his tail, jump on his face and he never gets mad.) He is good at a dog park and goes to doggie daycare 3x a week. Loves to go for walks and wears a doggie backpack to carry everyone's stuff on long hikes. He would love a family with another dog to play with and someone who is active and enjoys going for walks. He has had his eye surgery and is all healed up and even got a dental cleaning. So now he has pearly whites to smile with:) He is very well house trained and has never had a mess in the house. Also crate trained which helps when he is adjusting to a new home and where he is supposed to go potty. Red would be a great addition to any family and has tons of love to give! Please help us find a loving forever home for this beautiful boy! Update from his Adopter! "Redmon has be an absolute delight and can't image our live's without him. Please feel free to fill out an Adoption application on our main website, www.midwestanimalrescue.org, by clicking on the Form/Applications link under Website Features. Thank You! Professional photography thanks to LS Originals, please visit their website at www.lsoriginals.com *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person! If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.
*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.
